The European Parliament has hosted BrusselsMUN delegates on two occasions, offering a direct view of how the only directly elected EU institution debates, amends and votes on legislation. Its visits give delegates a concrete reference point for the negotiation they practise in committee, and remain among the most requested experiences on the programme.
Delegates were received at the United States Mission to NATO, where they gained insight into transatlantic security cooperation and the diplomatic work that takes place within the Alliance. The visit offered a rare opportunity to hear from those working at the intersection of American foreign policy and collective defence.
The Belgian Permanent Representation hosted delegates of BrusselsMUN International, explaining how a member state prepares, coordinates and defends its positions within the Council of the European Union. For an international cohort, the visit offered a valuable window into the host country's role at the heart of European decision-making.
